🚀 Getting Started
MaxFindsCars is a car listing alert service that monitors the best auction houses and dealer sites in the country to find rare, enthusiast, and classic cars for sale. When a car on your list hits the market, we email you immediately so you never miss a listing. Think of it as your personal car-hunting assistant — built by an ex-BMW engineer who was tired of missing out on dream cars, or checking a dozen different websites each day to try and find them.
Yes! MaxFindsCars offers a free tier that includes daily listing alerts for the cars you care about and access to the newsletter. Premium features are available for power users who want to track more cars & get access to beta features.
You tell us what cars you're looking for — make, model, year range, etc. — and we scan dozens of auction sites, dealer inventories, and enthusiast marketplaces every day. When we find a match, you get an email with the listing details and a direct link. No more refreshing ten different websites hoping your dream car appeared overnight.
Absolutely! We use Stripe for payment processing. Stripe is an industry leader in online payment security and handles billions of dollars in transactions annually. Your payment info never touches our servers.
🔍 Car Listings & Sources
We source listings from a wide range of sites — niche enthusiast marketplaces (like Rennlist), popular auction sites (like Cars & Bids & Bring a Trailer), larger mainstream sites like cars.com, and local dealerships like Exit5Auto. We launched with 5 sources and continue to add more every week.
Anything from classic muscle cars and vintage European sports cars to JDM imports, modern exotics, off-roaders, trucks, and oddball collector vehicles. If it's listed on one of our sources, we can track it for you. We've seen everything from Mercedes Unimogs to bedazzled limousines come through.
Yes! This is our bread and butter — MaxFindsCars can find the EXACT spec you're looking for. Just specify the make, model, and optionally any of our custom filters. MaxFindsCars will alert you any time a matching vehicle is listed on any of our monitored sources. Looking for a 1991-1994 Porsche 911 Turbo in Ruby Red Metallic ONLY? We've got you.
Absolutely. Enthusiast vehicles are what we were built for— classic cars, JDM imports, exotics, rare trucks, and collector vehicles. Our source list is specifically tuned toward the kinds of sites where these cars actually get listed, not just mainstream dealer inventory.
We monitor major platforms like Bring a Trailer, Cars & Bids, PCarMarket, Rennlist, and cars.com — among others. We're always adding new sources to give you the widest coverage possible. Have a suggestion? Let us know!
Most of the time, we catch everything from the previous day. There are some situations where we might miss something though: (1) if there's a typo in the make or model name on the source listing, (2) if a source site changes its data format without warning. We're constantly improving accuracy and coverage — it's getting better every day!
📬 Emails & Notifications
You receive email alerts daily. Every morning, if there are new listings matching your criteria, you'll get an email with all the matches from the previous day. No matches? No email — we won't spam you.
Your first email will arrive the morning after you subscribed (as long as there are cars to send you). If you don't see one, check your spam folder! Make sure to add cars@maxfindscars.com & max@maxfindscars.com to your contacts. If you're tracking particularly rare cars, just be patient — as soon as one hits the market, you'll hear from us.
Sometimes, if there are too many new listings in a day, your email provider won't load the entire email at once. You should see a “View entire message” button at the bottom — click it to see everything. It's an email provider thing, not us!
They'll look pretty similar to this example email! Each email includes the car title, photos, price, auction or dealer link, and key details. Note that different email providers render emails a bit differently, so yours may look slightly different.
📰 Newsletter & Blog
The MaxFindsCars software sends you daily personalized car listing alerts. The blog/newsletter is a fun supplement where Max shares automotive misadventures, interesting car finds, hot takes, and software updates. If you subscribe to the listing alerts, you'll automatically get the newsletter too — it's how we announce new features!
Yes! The newsletter is 100% free, always written by a human, and you can unsubscribe at any time. It covers interesting car finds, automotive stories, and MaxFindsCars software updates. You can subscribe on the blog page.
⚙️ Account & Billing
No unsubscribe hijinks here. Just go to the account management page and click “Update Payment Info”. It's straightforward and immediate.
Yes! You can update your tracked vehicles at any time through your account dashboard. Add new cars, remove old ones, or adjust year ranges & other filters whenever you like. Your next daily email will reflect the updated list.
🛠️ Features & Tools
The Dream Car Cost Calculator is a free tool that estimates the true monthly cost of owning an enthusiast car — including loan, insurance, maintenance, fuel, and depreciation — it'll even tell you how many kidneys you'd need to sell to afford it (not that Max has considered such a thing to afford a 997 GT3 RS...). It even compares your dream car to a brand-new car to show the real cost difference... and perhaps help you justify it to your significant other.
Not yet! But the website is fully mobile-responsive and all alerts arrive via email, so you can use MaxFindsCars seamlessly on any device. A mobile app is something we may explore in the future — stay tuned via the Roadmap.
Most car search sites are built for mainstream inventory. MaxFindsCars specializes in rare, enthusiast, and collector vehicles across niche auction sites and marketplaces that general search engines don't cover well. Instead of searching ten different sites every morning, we do it for you — and email you the results. Built by an enthusiast, for enthusiasts.
I'd love to hear from you! Email me at max@maxfindscars.com with feedback, feature requests, or questions. You can also use the contact page. MaxFindsCars is constantly being improved based on real user input — yours included.
