This 1918 Ahrens-Fox M-K-4 is a pump-and-hose fire truck that was delivered new to the Mount Vernon Fire Department in Westchester County, New York, for which it served until being retired in the early 1950s. Truck number 858 is said to have been traded to the Seagrave Corporation and passed through the hands of a racehorse trader before being purchased in 1953 by the fire chief of the Branford, Connecticut, fire department.
