About

Introduced for the 1971 model year, the Mustang received a longer, wider body and revised styling designed in part to accommodate Ford's broad selection of powertrain options. For ‘73, the final year of the original Mustang generation, federally mandated impact regulations brought a revised urethane front bumper, while the model continued to offer numerous appearance and comfort features.
