This 1978 Datsun 280Z was purchased by an Alabama doctor in 1990 and modified to compete in the 1991 Car and Driver One Lap of America, where it finished third in the modified class. The car was acquired as a non-driving project by the seller’s father in 2013, and it was subsequently refurbished. The 2.8-liter inline-six has been overbored and fitted with a performance camshaft, larger intake valves, and triple Mikuni 44 carburetors.
