This 2013 McLaren P1 is a validation prototype and one of a reported 22 development cars built prior to the start of road-going P1 production in October 2013. Chassis VP04 was used as a promotional vehicle and shown at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2013, where it participated in that year’s hill climb with 2009 Formula 1 world champion Jenson Button at the wheel, notching a 53-second time.
